The rich historic heritage of Alandroal region is due to its location: the region is known as Guadiana´s Sentry” because of the privileged view to the lands of the neighboring country – a fact of great importance during the wars with Kingdom of Castile.

Around the beautiful Castle, we can see several arquitectural elements such as The Noble House of Fidalgos Pimenteis, The Church of Mercy or the Pillory, the Town Hall and of course the the monumental Fonte das Bicas (natural water fountain), junction of waters with excellent thermal properties, decorated with the beautiful marbles from Alentejo.
