The Portugal Marble Route meets the schools' program in an experience developed for students and teachers of various levels of education.
These personalized visits have as an objective to get to know the endogenous resource that marble is, as well as, the impact that marble has on the landscape and the local community.
Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the quarries and understand how marble is extracted, then we will go to a processing workshop to learn how the stone is cut and processed in order to be ready for use in the most varied applications.
Finally, in a short walk it will be possible to see, in the architectural and urban heritage of Vila Viçosa, where marble is being used over the centuries until now.
