Walking Tour in Vila Viçosa

About the Tour

The Princess of Alentejo is a jewel full of heritage and it is hard to choose which ones are “must-see” and which are the ones that keep important history episodes..

Our journey starts at the pillory of Manuelin Style, then we follow to the Castle where among other stops, we will show you the Santuary of Nossa Senhora da Conceição. Then we will go to the Main Square where we will see and talk about some of the most famous people from Vila Viçosa. We will visit the church of São Bartolomeu, as well. At the end we will go to Terreiro do Paço (the square in front of the Palace) and we will show you and talk about the beautiful buildings that surround it, including Paço dos Duques, Convento das Chagas de Cristo and Convento dos Agostinhos.
