Walking Tour in Sousel

About the Tour

The quiet town of Sousel is full of charming places where the historical connection to D. Nuno Alvares Pereira and to the Battle of Atoleiros is obvious.

The landscape of this town is remarkable, with beautiful sights – from the top of São Miguel Mountain we can just “sail” through wavy sea of olive trees.

The houses are white due to the production of lime in the lime kilns of the municipality. We will take you to a very pleasant walk through the town and we will visit it heritage, including the iconic Museum of the Christs, the Church of Santo Antonio, the Church of Nossa Senhora da Orada, the Main Church of Nossa Senhora da Graça, The Church of Mercy and we will finish at the Pillory, located on the square in front of the Town Hall – in the heart of Sousel.
